WHY Keep Wellington Green?

In the Spring of 2023 I first became aware of the WLP applications that are referred to as North and South. I watched the Equestrian Preserve Committee meeting where WLP presented their applications and was horrified and shocked. I went the next night to make my 3 minute public comment. Little did I know, this was my entree into the seamy world of Wellington Government and Politics. I decided that I was going to do whatever I could to stop the removal of land from the Equestrian Preserve, and to that end I represented 2 interested parties and I spoke and gave presentations at all of the meetings.Throughout this process I discovered literally dozens of untruths and unscrupulous dealings traced to the Village of Wellington. I was not alone; there were several key people who helped to do the research and identify these egregious acts. We were a small group, but every week got larger. We wanted to be influential and felt our group needed a name. Keep Wellington Green was born. We started a Facebook group and immediately it took off. We now have a not for profit corp 501c4 in order to raise money for our brand new Website.

I am hoping that our numbers increase dramatically so that we can be even more effective in creating change in the Village’s government.  Now that we have a Website and can disseminate information to everyone, not just people on Facebook, we expect to expand our reach and ability to get residents educated and involved. 

In closing, it is my fervent desire to bring all of the like-minded residents of Wellington together so that we can TAKE BACK WELLINGTON.
